A large floating 25.7 cm (10.1 inch) capacitive touchscreen with 1280 x 720-pixel high resolution offers crisp detail, higher brightness and contrast for superior in-car experience.
Gapless Anti-glare Display
Unlike a conventional display, the LCD is bonded directly to the protective glass touch layer with a transparent adhesive. The result is an extremely precise touch experience along with enhanced contrast and visual performance. Customisable viewing angle for every journey
The display joint allows you to manually tilt and swivel the display – both at ±15 degrees – to suit your personal preference. This range of movement allows you to not only alter the angle according to your preferred seating position, but also to avoid things like reflection of the direct sunlight, or to share the navigation screen with your passengers.
How it works
The screw-less tilt and swivel mechanism is designed to be easily adjusted without tools yet remain static and stable even under harsh vehicle vibration.
Installation
The sturdy display joint offers four-way installation adjustment, including sub-tilt for horizontal swivelling, making it easier to position the oversized display perfectly.
Enhanced wireless audio streaming with LDAC™
Enjoy the convenience of Bluetooth® wireless audio and exceptional sound quality thanks to LDAC. Connect compatible devices to stream audio at 96 kHz / 24-bit with bitrates up to 3x higher (990 kbps) than conventional Bluetooth.
3-camera trigger inputs
You can see the images of up to three connected cameras when you shift the vehicle's transmission lever to the reverse position or tap the dedicated icons on the home screen. By utilising the supplied trigger wires, each camera image can be switched on and off, or from one to another automatically by detecting the vehicle's turn signals or sensing compatible signals such as that for a connected front camera. An adjustable parking guide is also available for reverse gear.
Connected to your car
iDatalink® Maestro® compatibility connects the XAV-AX8500 to your vehicle's onboard computer, turning it into a customised display for factory-equipped functions and features. With an iDatalink® Maestro® RR by Automotive Data Solutions you can interface with vehicle infotainment and information—for performance, safety and comfort—directly on the 10.1 inch touchscreen.

Despite its huge screen, the main unit is packed in a single-DIN chassis for flexible installation in both single and double-DIN dashboards, while still leaving plenty of room for cables and harnesses when installed in double-DIN vehicles.
Environment in mind
Our products are not only designed to be stylish but also with the environment in mind. For the individual packaging of the XAV-AX8500, 90% of the cushions are made of paper materials, and compared to the prior model, printed information has been carefully considered for simplicity and length to reduce printer ink usage by approximately 80%, reflecting Sony's commitment to reducing environmental impact.
